Protest Wednesday: Anti-SOPA Anit-PIPA

When I read about what these bills and acts were planning on doing I completely lost something in myself. Probably my sanity. My passion leaked a bit from my chest at the idea of US letting THEM censor US like we are puppets in their little industry designed to kneel and nod at their beckon and call. Why would they do this? What do they expect to gain by censoring one of the MOST IMPORTANT amendments that was ever made?- so important, in fact, that it was made to be the 1st!

They claim that this is a way to “protect” copyright infringement… like hell they are. They are basically protecting the “Big names”  (i.e celebs, musicians, etc) and their precious hollywood industry. I wander, don’t some of the musicians post their music own music themselves on Youtube? ( i.e VevoBeyonce, VevoBieber, VevoUsher, VevoMichealJackson, etc) Are they censored too? Hmm, who knows.

Probably not.

I never believed in having to paying ludicrous prices to listen, or read, or watch its stillness with my head cocked to the side- someones hard work and art, I never believed in having to pay for this. You did not have to pay your muse to make you write it, you should be proud enough that people want to see what you have to say; listen to your poetry with the melody in the background; observe your painting in silence. Yes, yes I know if we didn’t fine everything with that dreadful price tag what would the artist get in return? A damn true to heart fan that’s what! An admire of their talent!

I actually like websites like Youtube and…well I’ve never heard of any other website other than Youtube that is run the way it’s run but you get what I’m saying- I like websites like Youtube because they encourage freedom of speech and creativity. They allow us to rightfully listen to music for free and yet they probably pay a price to allow us this luxury.

Some of you wander if the websites are using us to keep them alive and active: why would you ask this if you, yourself, use theses websites for your own voice?- for your own talents and observations, your opinions? I do not think we should have to spend half a decade in prison because we played Single Ladies in our background… I am fighting this and I hope you will too, even with that doubt in your heart. I will not see our first amendment twisted in to a scheme by the government.

Join the blackout Wednesday, January 18th. Or annoy the hell out of the House with hundreds of tweets consisting of your hatred toward the bills.

NaNoWriMo: Double Dare!

He, NaNoWriMos! Just- and by ‘just’ I mean two days ago- reached over 9,188 words and felt pretty darn good about it. So I had to stop for a bit because of school and stuff (and I took a nap …which threw off my plans) so I didn’t get a chance to get back on it to get to the 15,000 words like I wanted to. *sad face*
But I can do that later since, because of said nap, I was able to arise at the glorious hour of 4:30 in the morning. So I’m doing my school work, which I can appropriately estimate as my finish time ( if I don’t get distracted) at around 9 or 10 ( give or take distractions).
So I was “taking a break”( DISTRACTION!!) to see what was going on on WriMo and to check out how much writing I’m going to have to conjure and what do ya know? I see dares *evil grin*
Did any of you watch that little video? You know, where this lady tells you a bunch of dares?
Yeah that!
I have decided to do them all!
And by “all” I mean three….
Don’t judge me!
I’m doing Tom Selleck’s mustache, 3 am wake up, and the Spy pov thingy ( or at least that’s how I’m doing it)
So! which dares are you guys doing?
Wanna dare each other 😉 *evil grin*
I promise I won’t give you anything (two or three) too crazy.
Scouts honor! ( was never a girlscout… or boy… scout)
How’s your word count? Are you stuck?
*sad face*
If you are, there are forums with awesome inspirational ideas!
Just, please, no plagiarism.
There was even this funny forum about “Cliches”.
Yes! I’ll admit, I’m using one ( or two… or five) cliches. But! my characters are aware of it. So… That’s okay.. Right?!?!
Anyway! check out the forums for inspiration if you get stuck and one of the BEST ideas I have ever heard is….. *Drumroll*
Throw something random and just crazy in your story just to, you know, make it interesting. Because, and believe me, if you’re falling asleep on your own story because it’s THAT boring ( which I’m sure is what happened with Margret Mitchell when she wrote Gone with the Wind) you might want to spice it up a bit with some oddity 🙂

Movies I Might See This Month: November

Yes the (In) famous Twilight: Breaking Dawn! Now!-what with me being a well rounded woman who has in fact read that giant hunk of drama publishers call a novel, I can definitely wait for this to come out on DVD. But… Honest to God, my mother and I are only going to see it because the acting is so bad it is more like a comedy (dramedy?) to us. Especially with that Jacob fellow. So there’s that. I just…put it out there. Don’t get me wrong, I actually liked the book (this was before I started reading classics and award winning novels… and I was a momentary “Twihard” fan) but the movies…kind of…. kill it.

They are all dead! Literally!

And no this is not a post where in I completely bash the Twilight Saga. That is just not the point of this post. I am just casually letting you guys know what to expect from me if I ever go see a Twilight movie with you.

I Will laugh my tail off.

I can’t just sit there and watch that soap with out laughing up a storm every time Jacob is supposed to be angry but clearly looks like he is trying not to laugh. I love you Taylor Lautner, but please… stick to that martial arts stuff you were doing and go back to Taylor Swift… or something.

And Kirsten… you know what?- don’t get me started on her….

Or that sparkly hunk…of creepiness, either.

Edward scares me a little.

Either way, my mother and I are going to see Twilight: Breaking Dawn… because we haven’t had a good laugh in awhile.

Here is the trailer.

In Time! With good old sexy Timberlake and little Miss Seyfried.

Now, the reason I did not put the synopsis in for Breaking Dawn is because- well… do you really need one? I mean probably half the people on earth have seen or heard about Twilight so I just left it hanging in the air… like a rag. Yes, a rag.

Here is the synopsis after which I will explain to you guys why I will (doubtfully) definitely be going to see this movie.

When scientists unlock the secret to immortality, time becomes the new currency and one desperate man comes under attack from a mysterious group known only as the “Time Keepers.” In the not-too-distant future, scientists have discovered a way to turn off the aging gene. As the threat of overpopulation looms over society, money becomes a thing of the past. Now, assets are measured in time; those with the most time also possess the most power. Meanwhile, the lower classes are forced to barter with the new elite if they want to live forever. Suddenly a young commoner stumbles across a treasure chest of time. With the “Time Keepers” in hot pursuit, however, he may never get a chance to use it.

In my opinion… that is a fairly bad synopsis. But seeing as I haven’t seen the movie yet and couldn’t find anything better, so that will just have to do.

I’ll definitely write a synopsis for it if/when I decide to do a review on these movies.

But, on the plus side, the preview is pretty cool.

Okay, so the reason I am going to see this movie is because I- oh who am I kidding, my mother is dragging me to go see it. She likes government “conspiracy” type movies. But, I will say that it does seem interesting albeit that bad acting that may or may not be in it. I don’t care. I like a good conspiracy myself. Hence the reason I love crime mysteries and movies set in the Golden Age in England (were those REALLY the “Golden Ages”? Hmm? Hmm?!?!). Plus, apparently, the guy who wrote the this movie also wrote The Truman Show…. and I love that movie so I’ll give In Time a shot.

So there are my Two November Picks.

Got any recommendations?
